What to expect at Adventure City

What to expect at Adventure City

Adventure City describes itself as a family theme park with 17 rides, shows and attractions. Its line-up includes the Rescue Ride, Balloon Race, Barnstormer Planes, Freeway Coaster, Adventure City Express Train and Petting Farm.

The attractions range from rides to animal encounters, so you can look over the list and pick a few priorities before setting out.

Height rules differ by ride: the Freeway Coaster requires riders to be at least 36 inches tall with a responsible companion, or 42 inches to ride alone. Rewind Racers requires riders to be 39 inches tall with an adult, or 48 inches to ride alone.

Who the park suits

The mix of rides, shows and hands-on attractions gives families several kinds of activities to consider. Check the height requirements against your group’s heights before you go, especially if a particular coaster is high on the plan.

For another family outing in the area, you can also read this guide to parking at Knott’s Berry Farm. If Disneyland is part of a wider trip, see the guide to planning around Disneyland hours.

Check the calendar before your visit

Adventure City’s calendar gives opening and closing times by date, and the schedule varies. Check the official site before you go so you can confirm the park is open and plan your arrival around that day’s hours.

Tickets and admission details

General admission is listed at $32.95 for ages 1 and up. It includes unlimited use of rides, shows and attractions, except the climbing wall and arcade. Admission tickets are required for everyone except infants 12 months and younger.

Online tickets are the only tickets the park says guarantee entry. Tickets at the main entrance are subject to availability, and some days sell out. Fun Cards start at $10 and can be used for arcade games, Mount Adventurous climbing and animal feed at the Petting Farm.

Parking is free, with the parking area a short distance from the main entrance. You can request a hand stamp for same-day re-entry, which may help if you plan to use the picnic tables outside the main gates for lunch.

Getting to Adventure City from Stanton

Getting to Adventure City from Stanton

Adventure City is about a four-minute drive from Dixie Orange County Hotel, a handy trip if you are staying in Stanton. The park lists its address as 1238 South Beach Blvd, Anaheim, California.

If you are driving, free parking is available near the entrance. For mobility needs, guests may bring their own motorized or non-motorized wheelchair. A limited number of non-motorized all-day wheelchairs are available to rent, subject to availability.

Single and double strollers can be rented just inside the entrance; the park says these are not intended for infants and cannot be taken outside the park.

Making a family day work

Outside food and drinks are not allowed, with exceptions for bottled water, baby formula or food, and food for guests with special dietary needs. Coolers are not allowed. If you want to bring lunch, picnic tables are available outside the main gates, and same-day re-entry is possible with a requested hand stamp.

Trained service dogs are the only animals permitted in the park, and animals, including service animals, are not allowed on rides. Rides may close temporarily during heavy rain, while the park may remain open; Adventure City says it does not issue refunds or rain checks for rain. Keep those policies in mind when deciding how to structure the day.
